Building More Than Concrete: Firm Foundations Concrete Partners With New Life Village

At Firm Foundations Concrete, we believe a foundation is about more than concrete.

It's about what gets built on top of it.

That's why we are incredibly honored to partner with New Life Village in Killeen, Texas, a local nonprofit working to provide safe housing, stability, life skills, and community for young adults who have aged out of the Texas foster care system.

And we have a big goal:

Firm Foundations Concrete is working to raise $16,000 to provide the concrete foundation for New Life Village's much-needed community kitchen.

A Village Built for a New Beginning

For many young people, turning 18 means college, a first job, or figuring out life while still having a family to call when things get hard.

For a young person aging out of foster care, turning 18 can look very different.

New Life Village exists to help change that story.

Located in Killeen, Texas, New Life Village is creating a tiny-home community where young adults transitioning out of foster care can have something many of us take for granted: a safe place to call home and a community willing to walk beside them as they learn to live independently.

Their mission goes beyond housing. New Life Village works to equip young adults with practical skills for adulthood, including financial management, job readiness, transportation, health and safety, education, and personal responsibility.

They aren't simply building tiny homes.

They're building a bridge between foster care and independent adulthood.

Now They Need a Kitchen

The next major phase of New Life Village's campus is a community kitchen building.

The planned space will include a commercial kitchen, community dining area, living room, laundry room, and bathrooms — creating a place where residents can gather, eat, learn, build relationships, and experience community.

But before the walls can go up, there has to be a foundation.

That's where Firm Foundations Concrete comes in.

Our goal is to raise $16,000 for the concrete slab needed for the New Life Village kitchen building.

Every dollar raised through this campaign will go directly toward making that foundation possible.

Why This Matters to Firm Foundations Concrete

Our company motto comes from Matthew 7:24–25:

“Built on the Rock. Built to Last.”

Normally, we get to live that mission by pouring driveways, patios, slabs and foundations throughout Central Texas.

This project means something different.

This time, we're helping pour a foundation for young people who are building lives of their own.

A kitchen may look like another construction project on a set of plans. But when we think about what will happen on that slab someday, we see something much bigger.

We see young adults sitting around a table together.

We see meals being prepared.

We see life skills being taught.

We see conversations, laughter, encouragement and community.

We see a place that feels like home.

And every bit of it begins with a foundation.

Central Texas, Let's Build This Together

We need our Central Texas community to help us reach $16,000.

Whether someone gives $25, $100, $500 or chooses to become a larger project sponsor, every contribution moves this kitchen one step closer to becoming a reality.

Businesses can give.

Families can give.

Churches can give.

Real estate professionals, contractors, builders and other members of our Central Texas community can give.

And together, we can build something that will serve young adults in our own backyard for years to come.
